Default Multi-Admin Permissions - 02-04-2010

I have not purchased the Multi-Store yet, but was wondering if different admins could have permissions over different store data.

By default, straight out of the box admin users have the same access to all areas of the store, with the exception to some settings and wizards that only super admins have access to.

Depending on what you are wanting to accomplish there would be various levels of customization needed.

Could you give us a better idea on what sort of separation you are looking for. I am really curious as to what your ultimate goal is.

We would like to be able to offer the multi store solution to our franchises and allow them to maintain their data independently, but we would control the look and functionality of the sites.

Our goal would be to allow "stores" to control products (prices, skus, inventory, tax tables, etc.) as well as affiliates, and orders etc.

We're working on adding the ability to restrict admin users to certain areas in the admin site like ML currently supports, however it'll take a bit of work on your end to make sure that the restrictions are airtight and the admins can't find a way into areas you don't want them in. Multistore's really designed to have one person/group do all of the admin rather than trying to maintain separate stores with separate admins.
