Angry Image resize in 9.3 makes ALL images blurry

    Hi!
We just upgraded to 9.3. In 9.1.0.1 and 9.2 we used large creates others with image resize true and everything was awesome. In 9.3 I have the same settings and it makes all of the images blurry. Even the large one which is the correct size when it's uploaded so it doesn't even have to be resized. Anyone else having this issue? Any possible fixes?

    Thanks, Kayla

We use image resize and have seen no issues after the upgrade to 9.3. What image format are you using?

Are you using watermarking? I've found that the watermarking code that ASPDNSF uses is perpetually broken. I've posted here about a fix for it, but you must own source code.

I just use jpegs. I haven't changed anything since the upgrade. I have quality set to 100 but I tried 1000 just to see what happened and nothing changed. Maybe I need to talk to support.

    I don't use watermarks.

    Thanks!

I noticed the same thing happening when I started using 9.3 for our redesigned site. I was loading 525 x 525 px images for the large, which was resized down to 500/300/200. We never used image resize for our old site and when I compared images side by side, the images in 9.3 were definitely more blurry & not as crisp. I experimented with several settings for jpgs in photoshop with no luck. The only thing that worked was to create super large originals (800 px or greater). When they were sized down to 500, everything looked sharp. Unfortunately, if your images are already at the correct size, this means a lot of work recreating images at a larger size. Ellen

Unhappy We're experiencing the same image resize problem...

We are experiencing the same problem. All images are JPG and the correct size (when uploading the large images). Comparing the before and after upload, there is a noticeable difference in the photo after it is uploaded. Image quality is set to 100 in config settings. Anyone have any ideas?
