Coupon Free Shipping Problem

Hello,

We have products that are mapped to a specific department/section called "team sales" which has an id of "3". We have created a coupon that gives free shipping on orders over $99. We do not want this coupon to be used for the products in this "team sales" department/section. While creating the coupon in administration there is an area you can specify what section the coupon is valid for. I have specified all sections besides "3" (team sales).

However, when i go add products to the shopping cart that are in my "tam sales" id "3", section and you try to apply the coupon code, it still honors the coupon and offers the free shipping.

Am I misunderstanding what the "sections" area when creating a coupon should do?

Is there any other way to offer a free shipping for orders over $99 and not have it apply to some products that we choose? Obviously we could go to shipping by product options but that doesn't work for our shipping method. Any ideas?

That should work. Can you paste here the section ID's that you have in your Valid For Section(s) tab.

I personally only use Category's for this type of promo. A section is, I believe, the same as a department.

I am trying to use a free shipping coupon for all but one category, so I add all the category IDs to "apply to these categories" field in the coupon config page except the one I don't want it to apply to, but it still honors the code in that category. I am adding the numeric category IDs separated by commas. Am I doing something wrong?
