Default license issue? installed on dev server but keep getting activation error

hello, we're still getting activation error (screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/n8aq6MXrssf).

we're able to login to the backend, but unable to see anything on the front end.

    URL: http://gameplan-storefront-atldev08i...hridgedev.com/
    URL (admin): http://gameplan-storefront-atldev08i...dev.com/admin/

front end was working before dev license expired. now it is not. we contacted support and they said they renewed the dev license. we've used the reset cache in the backend. but we're still getting the error.

    any ideas?

After the folks in support updated your license, did you re-download the key and apply the new file to your site? Just updating it on our end won't work, you'll need a new key file that has those changes on it.

yes, we downloaded the new license, placed it in the /images directory as instructed, but still getting the validation error. in the admin, if i click to see details of the error, i get a status that says the license does not exist.

Have you ensured that the licence file has the approriate permissions (same as the images folder).

if so then try resaving the web.config file (open it, add a character, delete it and then save). Then try restarting the site in IIS.
