    Default Using PayPal Auto Return?

    Hello,

Can anyone tell me if you are able to use Paypal's auto return function with ASPDNSF while using website payments standard?

There is a pre-populated message at checkout telling the user they must use the "Return to merchant" button, but in your Paypal account there is a place to put in a return URL so it will direct them back automatically.

Can this be done or will it cause issues with wrong or incomplete data being transfered back to ASPDN?

In addition to making sure the transaction completes in the back end,. I am concerned as well about making sure my Google Analytics capture the conversion correctly.

    TIA,

    Jay

Paypal's auto return is unreliable. It doesn't automatically return the customer as it suggests, and the customer can always close down the browser, or navigate somewhere else. The IPN is the method you should use if you find you're not recieving 100% of the completions you expect. Setup information can be found here. The drawback of course is that using paypal never provides completely accurate Google Analytics information as the customer NEVER has to return to the merchant site, and cannot be forced to.

    Thanks Jesse,

This thread I found had some additional info that was helpful too:

Looks like you have to either use the IPN or the auto return, never together.

    Thanks, Jay
